Our Team

Jason Kloss

President and Founder

Jason Kloss has worked with leading industry manufacturers and AI start-ups in the security space for more than a decade. He worked his way up the industry ladder from security guard, to residential and corporate security sales and landed at Axis Communications where he spent six and a half years as both a Sales Executive, Regional Sales Manager and Key Account Manager. It was this experience combined with some time spent working for a complex AI software start-up that led Jason to start his own venture.Through his career, Jason has taken a solutions-based approach to solving customer problems and is intent on selling bespoke solutions rather than gadgets and buzzwords. Recently, he saw a gap in the market that was frustrating both end customers and complex software solutions companies, so he launched SoloSquid to help businesses in all industries optimise their existing systems to produce clearer insights with less risk of downtime.

Why SoloSquid?

We wanted a business name that set us apart from other companies in our space, but one that was also meaningful to us as we move forward. Jason is one of a few people who has conquered a solo swim across Lake Huron (from Port Sanilac, Michigan to Grand Bend, Ontario) - completing the swim in 26 hours and 3 minutes, raising over $22,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. He completed the swim on the 20th anniversary of his own grandfather’s (also his coach) swim across the same lake. Jason attributes much of his success to the lessons he learned in his year of training and the actual swim itself. And so, we chose ‘squid’ because it’s a swift swimmer (like Jason) with 10 arms and multiple hearts.

To us, “SoloSquid” represents our ability to move quickly while offering a variety of services, with one destination in mind – smoother waters.
